Electrical Engineering

  • The most familiar form of energy in our daily lives is electrical energy. The branch of engineering which deals with producing, managing and utilizing this energy, is referred as electrical engineering.
  • This field of engineering was introduced in an organized manner in the mid of 19th century. Electrical technology is not as old as civil and mechanical technologies. Interest in this field of study grew after the invention of electricity.
  • Electrical engineering is core engineering like civil and mechanical but it has a wide range of subfields. After modernization, many fields of engineering grew out of electrical such as electronics, computer, telecommunication engineering and many more.
  • During the course of study, the student is exposed to various subjects of Electrical Engineering such as in a power generation plant where electrical energy is produced, the application of this engineering is huge.
  • All the mechanical and as well as electrical equipment involved in producing electrical energy, such as alternators, boilers, turbines etc. are controlled and protected by electrical signals. All the relays and switches involved in operation of the equipment are either electromechanical or static electronics devices.
  • The course also offers adequate exposure to power generation, electrical power transmission & distribution, control & power system protection, electrical switchgear,power transformers, control & protection relays, transmission & distribution substations, and all switch yard equipment, Maintenance of Electric Supply.
  • The Civil Engineering Profession deals with a wide variety of engineering tasks which includes job opportunities in National and Multinational companies,Government undertaking enterprises, Public sector Units, Railways and one can even start an own venture.

Our Department of Electrical Engineering consists of experienced faculty, well-equipped classrooms and state of the art lab facilities. The department provides continuous academic improvement through consultation with faculty, industry, electrical engineering professionals and students. The focus of this course is on the design, analysis, development and testing of electrical systems; encompassing both wired and wireless technologies. The curriculum is designed to provide round or experience to students in fundamental principles and application of electronics, signal analysis, electromagnetics, antennas, modulation and demodulation methods, digital communications, digital signal processing, coding techniques, image processing, wireless technologies, fibre-optics and satellite systems.

Mechanical Engineering

  • Mechanical engineering is one of the oldest branches and one with a wide scope in design, analysis, testing, manufacturing and maintenance of every system that has moving parts.
  • As a mechanical engineer one can develop a new product ranging from a valve in an artificial heart to a car engine to a mammoth nuclear power plant. Almost to every system concepts of mechanical engineering are applied.
  • The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering program at our institute aims at developing the brains of the candidate to think about new ideas and innovation. The product of our polytechnic should be able to explore various alternate technical solutions to the industrial problems.
  • During the course of study, the student is exposed to various subjects of Mechanical Engineering such as Basics of a thermal power plant, Inspection of manufactured components, CNC operating, developing product design on a solid modeling package, Supervising production and maintenance of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
